Qwest Zones in on Customer Retention
with New Digital Entertainment Store
To increase customer acquisition and retention for its High-Speed Internet service, Qwest has launched qZone, a full service digital entertainment store featuring music, movie downloads, and PC games.
The store, which taps Puretracks Web Services to offer millions of songs for its Music offering, was designed as a one-stop digital entertainment shopping portal exclusively for Qwest High-Speed Internet customers.
“People don’t buy technology for the sake of technology. They buy it because it enables them faster access to fun stuff such as digital music, movies and games,” says Qwest Senior Product Development Manager, Janet Kurihara. “By offering a one-stop destination for their digital entertainment needs, Qwest underscores the value of our High-Speed Internet service and, at the same time, offers customers a complete solution so they don’t have to go anywhere else. Qwest also has a strong rewards program that enables qZone customers to earn loyalty points for purchases that may be redeemed for future purchases in the qZone digital content store.”
The qZone loyalty program rewards customers with one point (worth a dollar credit) for each $10 purchase made in the qZone online store. To simplify the shopping experience, customers’ purchases are charged to their monthly Qwest bill, with pre-determined spending limits so parents can control family spending on digital content.
Additionally, a parental control system uses individual login user names and passwords for each family member, enabling parents to establish permissions that limit access to age appropriate content specific to that family member.
